Universidad Marta Abreu de las Villas hosted the 2019 ADAPTO member reunion (activity C5 of the ADAPTO project). The purpose of this meeting was to evaluate the overall progress of the project and to review the initial impacts of the research, implementation and dissemination. This activity was framed within a seminar and international workshop called "Role of universities in the innovation of the processes of habitat adaptation to climate change". In parallel to this event, the Agents of Change meeting and the student innovation and creation workshop were developed. The activities took place in Santa Clara from March 1st - 8th, 2019.

This workshop took place from March 5 to 7. Meetings and work sessions were held on the evaluation of the progress of ADAPTO projects related to climate change. The activity also included administrative and project coordination meetings dedicated exclusively to the researchers of the CRDI project.  [+] Meeting of agents of change of the ADAPTO project
 
The meetings between the agents of change and the members of the ADAPTO project took place between the 5th and the 7th of March. Other joint activities were carried out, such as the visit to Carahatas and the academic meeting on Thursday, March 7th.

 [+] International student workshop
 
The seminar consisted of the elaboration of a diagnosis and the development of solutions for a neighborhood exposed to the effects of climate change in Santa Clara, Cuba. The analyzed area also presents situations of social vulnerability and poverty. This workshop was held from March 2nd to 7th and included participation from Canadian architecture and urban planning students (UdeM and McGill), Cuban students (UCentral), Colombian students (UValle), and a Chilean student (UBio-Bio). The students worked in teams, guided by Cuban and Canadian professors. In addition to the funds of the CRDI, this workshop benefited from funding from the Ministry of Education of Quebec (through the International Affairs Office-IAO-UdeM), a contribution of the observatory Ĺ’uvre durable (SSHRC), and a financial contribution from the UdeM School of Architecture.
